Past, Present and
Future of the African Children
In this triangular battle between the past, present and
the future of the African children and in spite of the formidable weapons from
the combined arsenals of our past and present African leaders in combating the
African-Illiteracy Virus (AIV), the pertinent question to ask ourselves is ‘
are these sufficient, are we sure illiteracy is still not winning and
reigning?. It is a pity that in this 21st century, the standard of
education in Africa is going down and if nothing is done speedily, the future
of the African children is in jeopardy. Did you know that, there are still some
schools with dilapidated buildings with less or no educational materials? The
apartheid icon, the former President of South Africa, late Nelson Rolihlahla
Mandela once said and I quote ‘education is a weapon we can use to conquer the
world’. How would the African children conquer the world when the standard of
education is not encouraging and less pleasant every day? But it is not yet
over until it is over, hence, the struggle continues.
And for this reason, Christeve Independent School (a school
where the future is featured through what is impacted today), a school
established 5 years ago with goal, vision and mission. Take a look at our goal,
vision and mission.
Our goal: our goal is to provide each pupil with an
enjoyable, memorable and an outstanding educational experience.
Our vision: our vision is to prepare a future
generation of well-educated and ethical global leaders who will seek to create
an environment of equality and respect for all.
Our mission: Christeve Independent School will strive
to offer its pupils the best start in their education by providing a friendly,
caring and inspiring academic atmosphere in a safe and happy environment.
Nearly 37.5 percent of our pupils are on CIS
Scholarships. These are orphans and the less-priviledged in the society. 29.5
percent of our pupils are on partial scholarships. These are the children of
petty traders, transporters and road-side farmers who their daily income is
less than one dollar. The remaining 33 percent are the children of Government
workers who their take home cannot take them home (according to their slogan).

This is where we need your help and support. We want to
expose these pupils (5 of them for now) academically. We want to change their
orientations by visiting the gallery of the number one richest man in the world.
Be part of our vision. Listen to the song of the late musician, Michael Jackson
saying ‘we are the world, we are the children, we are the ones who make a
brighter day, so let us start giving. There is a choice we are making, we are
saving our own lives, it is true we will make a better day, just you and me’
I know you and I can do it. We need $10750 to send these
pupils on tour to the United States of America. Please back our vision through
your generous donations. These pupils are holding our hands and if we let go
off their hands, this rare opportunity may elude them.
Your names shall continue to linger in their memories
particularly their parents and Christeve Independent School for nations have
been built.
We look forward to hearing from you through your
donations.
Thank you and God bless
Yours faithfully,
